For Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 users, the time has come, Microsoft just released Service Pack 2 (SP2) available for public download today. The updates are available as a standalone installer on both 32bit and 64bit.
Download, install it and from rumors that I've heard, this SP2 will fix a lot of Windows Vista and Server 2008 bugs known as "bloated". So, you gonna see some improvements here and also the performance may get higher and narrowing the gap between Windows Vista/Server 2008 and Windows 7.
Before you install Service Pack 2, read this first mostly for users who has installed SP2 Beta.
If you have any beta versions of SP2 installed, they must be un-installed prior to installing
- Use the Control Panel applet “Programs and Features” and select “View installed updates” from the top left of the task pane, under Windows, look for KB94846
You must have a genuine copy of Windows Server 2008 with SP1 or Windows Vista with SP1 installed on the computer prior to installing SP2
- Windows Server 2008 released with the Service Pack 1 code included
- SP2 is the first post-release Service Pack for Windows Server 2008
