Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Manually

Sometimes Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware users experiencing problem when trying to update malware signatures or more known as "mbam-rules", this is caused by several things, such as malwarebytes'.org server experiencing a high traffic flow or users had a problem with their internet connection and also a few other things.

To overcome this, you need to update manually. If you browse to malwarebytes.org web pages, you can see that they did not give any link to download a standalone mbam-rules update file, but technically, they provide it.

So, you can download mbam-rules.exe from here.

Double click mbam-rules.exe to install the updates, for Windows Vista and Windows 7 users, please right click the file and choose "run as administrator".
